To create a new document, click either the blue [ + Add IIIF Manifest ] button or the first big tile in the card view of your dashboard.

A pop-up with an option to either upload a JSON manifest or paste a link will open. You can choose whatever you prefer and have on hand. If you paste a link, you'll have to click the [ Fetch ] button, which will load the necessary information about the manifest.

When all metadata is successfully loaded, you'll be welcomed by the creation screen. Here, on the left side, you can find basic information like the title given by the institution, shelfmark (if the app was able to find it in the manifest), and the description given by the institution. On the right side, you'll see a preview of nine images of the manuscript and the license (if the application was able to recover it from the manifest).
Clicking on [ Open manifest ] will create the document record and redirects you to the editor where you can start annotating.

MANIFEST INFORMATION
While developing MANU, I’ve noticed that practices between institutions sometimes differ significantly in how they name things and include them in the manifest. I was working mostly with Czech Manuscriptorium.com, Oxford Library, and the British Library, so it might happen that some data won’t be correctly loaded for you. Let me know if that happens. I’ll also be happy if you reach out to me if you have knowledge I might be missing about where the license fields are located.
